Privacy policy.
The information used to deliver Easy NTFS, run your license and help you.
Who is responsible
Grandma Jam is responsible for the personal data used for this website, licensing and product support. Contact [email protected].
Information we use
- Your email, email-verification records and sign-in sessions to deliver and recover a license.
- Your order reference, payment status, amount and currency, provider references and license status. Card details are handled by Stripe / Link.
- A derived Mac identifier (a one-way value computed on your Mac; the hardware identifier itself is not sent), installation identifier, activation and trial history, and technical client information such as app version, build number, macOS version and architecture, to recognize devices and manage trial and license limits.
- A name for each activated Mac, made of its model and the last four characters of its serial number (for example, “MacBook Air · …7Q2K”), so you can tell your Macs apart on your license page. The full serial number and your computer’s name are not sent.
- An installation secret issued to the app when you start a trial or activate a Mac. The app keeps it in your Mac’s keychain and uses it to authenticate license checks and deactivation from that installation.
- If you bought Easy NTFS on the App Store and request a key for the website version: the App Store transaction information signed by Apple and sent by the app (app, product and transaction identifiers and refund status), and the email address you confirm in your browser. We don’t receive your Apple ID email address.
- Information you choose to send when contacting support.
- Technical request information, including IP addresses and security logs, to operate the website and prevent abuse.
Easy NTFS contacts our server when you start a trial, activate or deactivate a Mac, check your license, or request a key for the website version. It sends your license key only when you activate a Mac. Disk contents, filenames and file paths are not sent as part of licensing.
Why we use it
We use purchase and licensing information to perform our contract with you and take steps you request before purchase. We use security and abuse-prevention information for our legitimate interest in protecting the service and license system, subject to your rights. Records required by applicable accounting or other laws are processed to meet those legal obligations.
Service providers
Stripe / Link handles checkout, transaction records, payment-related messages and transaction support under its own privacy notices. See Stripe’s privacy policy and Link’s privacy policy.
For App Store purchases, Apple confirms the purchase and notifies us of refunds through the App Store Server API. Apple handles App Store payments under Apple’s privacy policy.
We also rely on a few providers that process information only on our behalf: a cloud hosting provider runs the website, license server and database; a content-delivery and security network in front of the website receives technical request information, such as IP addresses, to deliver pages and protect the service from abuse; and an email service provider delivers verification codes, sign-in links, license emails and support correspondence.
Analytics or marketing services that public pages may load are described under Cookies below.
Some of these providers are based in, or may process information in, countries outside the European Economic Area, including the United States. Such transfers rely on an adequacy decision, such as the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework, or on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Cookies
The website uses necessary session and security cookies for email confirmation, checkout, license access and App Store key requests. An App Store key request works only in the browser where you open the link from the app, for up to 20 minutes. Public pages of this website may load third-party analytics or marketing services. They can set cookies and receive technical information such as your IP address and the pages you visit. Stripe / Link has its own cookie and privacy practices on its checkout pages.
How long information is kept
We keep information only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for:
- Order and license records — for as long as your license exists, and afterwards as long as needed to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes and prevent abuse.
- Records of activated Macs — while the Mac is activated, and after it is released as long as needed to apply the activation limits described in our Terms.
- Verification codes, sign-in links and sessions — until they expire or are used.
- Support correspondence — as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up.
- Technical and security logs — for a short period, after which they are rotated automatically.
App Store purchase and transfer records are kept to handle refunds, support and audit. One-time links, verification codes and the email address entered on the transfer page are removed from the transfer record after they expire; a confirmed address stays with your license.
To have your information deleted, email our support address from the email linked to your license. We delete or anonymise what we no longer need and keep only what the law or an open dispute requires; deleting license records ends the license.
Your rights
Depending on the applicable law and circumstances, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. If processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it. Contact our support email to make a request. We may need to verify that the request concerns your data.
You can complain to a competent data-protection authority, including the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO) in Poland. Some records may need to be retained despite a deletion request to meet legal obligations or handle legal claims.
